They both look like Artemisia absinthium 'Powis Castle'
They grow about 3 feet high and wide very xeric. They look fabulous under tall grasses like Karl Foerster Feather Reed Grass or Pink Flamingo Muhly Grass. Powis also helps the grass stand out and stand more upright. I love this stuff a little too much. Transplants easy. Don't over water they need little water once established. Not sure from the pic if you have them next to each other. Don't do that of their size it be just too much. They will bury any plant that is too short to peek over the tops.
Thanks, Jen. But the leaf pattern is a bit different in each. One is planted in semi shade in the olive tree area, the other is in the back of the side flowerbed near the mallow. If it is easy to transplant I will just move them if they don't behave themselves! I just love the silver color.

ReplyDeleteActually, I just found my notes on the Olive Tree area. The plant over there is Centaurea gyumnocarpa 'velvet centaurea'. see my post on 10/18/10.
ReplyDeleteJust looked it up - and I sooooo want that! check to see if they have it - the web site says they don't but sometimes they have it there.
